Its that time of year again time to hit the refresh button on the CPT^© code set. Ever year on January 1st we get a refreshed code set– one that’s has been refurbished to better reflect current medical procedures and new innovations. With a healthcare system constantly evolves, expanding and modernizing it is important that our code set reflects this. As coders we are at the frontlines of these changes and need to keep abreast of incoming changes.

In this session we are going to take a tour of the important changes to CPT^© this year, While we’ve seen bigger changes to CPT^© in the last overhaul of the E&M section, there have been some important changes to be aware of. Overall there were 230 additions, 49 deletions and 70 revisions; leaving us with a total of 11,163 codes.
