CWTC [Episode 77] SCI or NTSCI, IRF IGC Selection, Likely Diagnosis - Make Your Revenue Smarter

Welcome to Coffee with the Coder®, our conversation with Paula Digby and her team to address issues, observations and questions for Health Information Management professionals, physicians, auditors, payors and students. You are invited to listen in for ten to twenty minutes every other Monday and to submit your favorite questions or comments for Coffee with the Coder® To receive text notifications send an email to help@AQ-IQ.com with your request. In Episode 77, Paula Digby answers three anonymous questions from an inpatient rehabilitation perspective. First, the patient who had a spinal cord injury in the past and is back, is the new admission related to SCI or NTSCI? Second, a rehab patient with COPD, but is that COPD or COPD exacerbated? Finally, an IRF team PPS and coding are in not agreement regarding a “likely” diagnosis in the chart. What is the correct way to report this?

Congratulations to today’s winner from a facility in South Georgia! This fab mugshot is Kellie, Donna and Abby!
