Reporting for COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced all of us to make massive changes in the way we all live our lives. It has become a worldwide public health crises, causing global economic upheaval and widespread uncertainty. With the world of healthcare facing a crisis it has not faced before, it’s now more important than ever that all of us pitch in to do our part. As coders, while it is not typical to help on the front lines, we can help ease the burden by correctly reporting all the services our healthcare facilities and providers are providing. In recent weeks there have been many changes made to both our code sets and regulatory guidance. These overnight changes have left many in our industry with unanswered questions. In this session we want to clear up confusion about coding for COVID-19 in both CPT and ICD-10.
