CPT© Coding Spine (Advanced)
In this course the student will learn appropriate coding for outpatient spine procedures. This detailed session will address code assignment, changes for the current year, regulatory guidance and provide case studies to review important concepts.

Course Objectives:
- Briefly review vertebral anatomy and documentation requirements for appropriate spinal procedure code assignment;
- Review the new spinal codes for 2011, including the “combo code” for anterior cervical interbody fusion and decompressive diskectomy;
- Review other changes for 2011, including new verbiage for code 20930;
- Discuss the relevant regulatory guidance for spinal procedure codes as it relates to code assignment; and
- Detail some case studies for correct code assignment.
This course is retained as a valuable source of historical information.
