CPT© Coding Colonoscopies
In this course the student will learn to determine the correct CPT© and ICD-9 codes for reporting various colonoscopy procedures. This session includes a history of the procedure, an in-depth look at the codes and an explanation of the potential financial impact of failure to “get it right”.

- Briefly review the anatomy of the colon, and the description and history of colonoscopy.
- Identify specific coding according to the documentation and the code nomenclature.
- Examine the financial impact of incorrect coding or documentation of these procedures.
